Dénia City Council has decided to suspend the night mascletà scheduled for this Wednesday, July 8, due to adverse weather conditions affecting the region.

The decision was made this morning following a technical meeting between the Governance department and the Local Police. The event, which was to be held at Jaume I Square at 10:30 PM, has been cancelled due to the ongoing orange alert for temperatures that could exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, the council is maintaining previously announced preventive measures. These include the closure of the Montgó Natural Park until July 9 and reinforced surveillance using the police Drone Unit. Additionally, special attention continues to be provided to homeless individuals in light of the extreme fire risk, which remains at red level.
The Department of Health, through the General Directorate of Public Health, reminds citizens of the importance of following basic recommendations to combat the heat. It is advised to maintain constant hydration, avoid direct sun exposure during the central hours of the day—between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM—and prioritize the consumption of fruits and vegetables.
