A wildfire declared in the Serra Calderona, between Segorbe and Gátova, required intense work overnight by extinguishing teams.

The fire, which began yesterday afternoon due to a lightning strike during a period of heavy storms in the Valencian Community, threatens this area of high ecological value. The Serra Calderona, located between the municipalities of Segorbe and Gátova, is the scene of these efforts.
During the early morning, ground crews from the fire departments of the provincial councils of València and Castellón, along with units from the Generalitat's forest firefighters, took advantage of increased humidity to try and contain the flames. Efforts are now focused on the two active flanks of the fire, in an area with difficult ground access.
The situation has led to Bétera preparing to host residents from Gátova, according to recent reports, due to the fire's proximity. The Generalitat has ordered the confinement of Gátova due to smoke.
