Calp City Council has enabled two new private plots as public parking, leasing them from their owners for one year to alleviate congestion in the urban center and beach areas.

These are two plots, one located at Senieta 3C, opposite the Tennis Club, and another at Senieta 7E, at the access to vial J, opposite the sports fields. Each plot has an approximate area of 2,000m2 and will offer a total capacity for 150 cars.
With the aim of creating park-and-ride facilities, Calp City Council established a framework agreement for land leasing in 2022. These parking areas, located on the periphery, aim to encourage drivers to access the center on foot, prioritizing pedestrian routes and reclaiming public space.
The measure seeks to absorb parking demand in areas close to the urban center and Arenal – Bol beach, especially during peak seasons. The council acknowledges the lack of qualified public land and the need to use private plots free of buildings.
The mayor, Ana Sala, highlighted the work done by the Territory Department to acquire private plots and facilitate public parking. She also recalled the regulated parking service for vehicle rotation in the commercial area and assured that more park-and-ride facilities will continue to be sought.
