The Town Hall of Benissa, through Benissa Impuls, is advancing the implementation of its new waste management system, which includes closing the grey residual waste bin starting November 2nd.

Starting November 2nd, the residual waste bin (grey) in Benissa will be locked. Access to this bin will exclusively be through the citizen card or the mobile application, following the model already established for the organic waste bin (brown).
This smart bin system is part of a more modern management model, aligned with European directives, aiming to improve source separation, increase recycling, and optimize waste management efficiency within the municipality. Furthermore, it provides valuable data on system usage and citizen participation.
The implementation of the new model is already showing positive results in selective collection, with an increase in correctly deposited waste in the specific bins, thanks to the concentration into bin islands designed to facilitate separation.
Individuals who already possess a citizen card or the mobile application will not need to take any additional steps. Those who do not yet have a card can apply for one at the Benissa Impuls offices, located at Carrer Costera del Pobil, number 10. The office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To process the card, a waste tax receipt from Suma and an identification document are required. During the implementation period, the WhatsApp number 670 028 431 will also be operational.
Benissa Impuls encourages citizens to familiarize themselves with the new system, emphasizing that everyone's participation is crucial for improving waste separation and moving towards more efficient and sustainable management.
