The Benissa City Council has taken a decisive step towards the construction of a municipal Day Center, a significant social project that will offer 100 places and address a community need.

The council has initiated the procedures to build this facility on a plot located on Sueca street. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of this year, with the aim of having the center operational by the end of 2027.
A portion of the places will be managed directly by the City Council itself, while the remainder will be integrated into the subsidized places system with the Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies, once the relevant agreements are formalized.
The mayor of Benissa and head of Urban Planning, Arturo Poquet, highlighted the importance of this infrastructure, stating that "we are not just talking about building a building, we are talking about responding to a need in Benissa and offering a resource that will improve the lives of many people and their families".
Currently, the City Council has opened a 30-day public information period for the preliminary project, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante. During this time, interested parties can consult the documentation, property valuation, and concession terms, as well as submit their objections.
