To facilitate access to information and culture, and to promote the participation of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, the municipality of Silla will provide sign language interpreters. This initiative seeks to move towards more inclusive municipal programming.
The service will be available at activities held at the Silla Municipal Library on November 17, 18, and 19, coinciding with Valencian Letters Week. This will ensure that everyone can enjoy the scheduled cultural events.
Furthermore, sign language interpretation will be present at the reading of the manifesto on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and at the Porrots d’Honor 2026 awards ceremony, two significant events on the municipal calendar.
Through this measure, Silla City Council reinforces its commitment to equal opportunities and the removal of communication barriers, ensuring that culture, institutional events, and awareness activities are accessible to all citizens.
The ultimate goal is to continue progressing towards a more inclusive municipality where all individuals can fully participate in the cultural and social life of Silla, regardless of their hearing abilities.
