Xirivella is enhancing its cycle-pedestrian routes through an initiative promoted by the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud. The goal is to make walking and cycling journeys safer and more comfortable across various areas of the municipality.
The works are primarily focused around the industrial estate and the area behind the sports center. New elements have been incorporated to improve lighting and provide rest spaces for users.
One of the notable improvements is the creation of two new rest areas. These spaces, located on Carrer dels Llauradors and Ronda de Llevant, are equipped with shade, benches, and bicycle racks, facilitating stops during cycle-pedestrian journeys.
The intervention aims to optimize the usability of these routes and promote more sustainable mobility, offering facilities that allow residents to travel more comfortably.
Additionally, the lighting at the rear of the Xirivella sports center has been enhanced with the installation of 18 new luminaires. This improvement seeks to increase visibility and safety for users of this pathway.
These enhancements are part of a broader plan by the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud to upgrade mobility infrastructure in the region's municipalities.
The projects are financed by European NextGenerationEU funds, allocated to aid for inter-municipal associations and municipalities affected by the DANA storm, thereby enabling improvements to municipal infrastructure and public spaces.
