The chess day served as a space for concentration and strategy, bringing together participants of different ages, categories, and clubs. The competition highlighted the passion for this mental sport within the municipality.
In the overall standings, Juan Carlos Lain Moreno (Dama Roja) secured first place, followed by Vladimir Chernikov (Alberic) in second, and Antonio Selva Viu (Albal) completed the podium.
Special categories recognized young and local talent. Marian Daniel Popescu (Dama Roja) won in the S1800 category, while Yusi Yi (EDAPA) led the S1600 category. Luis Sánchez Moreno, from the organizing club El Drac Negre, was honored as the top local player.
In the Under-12 categories, the prizes went to Pablo Ferrandis Rudilla (Ateneo Marítimo), Samuel Yekhtaryan Manucharyan (Basilio), and Sofia Tasso Assadi (Basilio). For the Under-9 category, the winners were Esteban Lavin Dreher (EDAPA), Xinyi Yi (EDAPA), and Gonzalo Francisco Castro Ortiz (Chesschool Carcaixent).
The trophy presentation was conducted by the mayor of Sedaví, José Cabanes, and councilor Juanjo Campayo, who congratulated the winners and emphasized the event's significance.
The Sedaví City Council expressed its gratitude to the El Drac Negre Chess Club for their organizational efforts and for promoting chess in the municipality, as well as to all participants who made the day possible.
