The Paiporta City Council held the reception ceremony today for the 13 new officers joining the Local Police, as part of the staff reinforcement process initiated by the council. With these additions, the municipality's local police force now totals 52 officers.
This expansion continues the reinforcement started less than a month ago, when 11 new officers were added. The new staffing level establishes a ratio of 1.73 officers per 1,000 inhabitants, a figure that positions Paiporta as a benchmark municipality in terms of security.
Mayor Vicent Ciscar emphasized that “reinforcing the Local Police is a priority for the City Council because it means having a greater presence on our streets and a higher capacity to attend to the needs of our residents more closely and efficiently.” Ciscar noted that the expansion will allow for continued progress towards a Local Police force that is “more complete, prepared, and with the necessary human resources to provide quality service to a growing population.”
The Councilor for General Administration and Interior, Miguel Ángel Ortiz, the Councilor for Local Police, Susana Moreno, and the Police Superintendent, Manuel Ocaña, welcomed the new officers. Ortiz highlighted the ratio of 1.73 police officers per 1,000 inhabitants, while Moreno praised the daily work of the police and stated that the increase in personnel will strengthen prevention and response capabilities.
The City Council will continue working to complete the staff and consolidate the reinforcement of the Local Police, aiming to further improve security and citizen services. “More officers mean more presence, more prevention, and more response capacity. We continue working for a safer Paiporta,” the mayor stated.
