The municipality of Paiporta has reopened today the Convent Street footbridge, a key infrastructure over the Poyo ravine that has been rebuilt with an investment of 2.55 million euros.

The works, funded by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, have improved pedestrian and cyclist connections between the two areas of the municipality. The project is part of the agreement signed last March 2025 for the recovery of local structures affected by the DANA.
The new footbridge, nearly 60 meters long, features a design adapted to new climate challenges. Technical improvements include reinforced concrete piers with hydrodynamic geometry and railings designed to release load during potential flood events.
In addition to structural safety, the project has integrated a five-meter-wide bike lane and LED lighting under the handrails to ensure visibility. The work also included the urbanization of access points and the restoration of services affected in the urban area.
