L'Horta Sud launches industrial heritage route with chocolate workshop

The Mancomunitat promotes a new itinerary through industrial heritage, including a visit to Manises, Aldaia, Paiporta, and Torrent.

The Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud has launched a new tourist route focusing on industrial heritage, which includes chocolate workshops and visits to municipalities such as Manises, Aldaia, Paiporta, and Torrent.

With the start of the academic year, the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud is resuming its tourist routes, which this year feature novelties like the Industrial Heritage Route. This new offering, launching this week, will tour several municipalities and include a chocolate workshop.
The excursions, which are free to join, are part of the Mancomunitat's Strategic Tourism Plan 2026-2029, supported by the Provincial Council of Valencia (Diputación de València). The aim is to regenerate and reactivate tourism in the region following the 2024 Dana floods.
The Industrial Heritage Route will visit four key municipalities: Manises for its ceramics, Aldaia for its fans, Paiporta for its artisanal brick production, and Torrent for its chocolate. One of the stops will be at the restaurant Ca la Curra for a workshop led by master pastry chef José Alba.
The inauguration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th, with a group of 50 participants from the ONCE (SUPO), accompanied by their president, Merce García Remesar. The company Via Heraclia has adapted the itinerary, which will include a visit to the Museu de la Rajoleria de Paiporta. This will be the first regional route entirely for visually impaired individuals.

Concurrently, the Route of Homage to the Victims of the Dana Floods and Volunteerism has been created, showcasing artistic creations that emerged in the aftermath of the catastrophe. It will take place on September 26th and 29th.
The Mancomunitat also offers 30 reformulated classic excursions, including itineraries through l’Albufera, the Túria Natural Park, exploring the Andalusian past with a visit to the four towers (Picassent, Silla, Albal, and Torrent), and discovering the Renaissance Castle of Alaquàs.
