Alfafar receives 35 million for reconstruction after flood

The central government has allocated 35.3 million euros for the reconstruction of Alfafar, affected by the storm on October 29, 2024, with 22 planned actions.

The State has mobilized 35.3 million euros to repair and rebuild Alfafar's municipal infrastructure damaged by the storm on October 29, 2024. This investment will be distributed among 22 projects covering various areas, including green spaces, roads, educational centers, sports facilities, public lighting, administrative buildings, and municipal services.
The special commissioner for Reconstruction, Zulima Pérez, met with the mayor, Juan Ramón Adsuara, to oversee the development of actions financed by the central Executive. The objective is to analyze the execution of projects aimed at revitalizing the urban environment and its public services.
One of the ongoing works is the Green Spaces Shock Plan, with an allocation of 847,769 euros, focusing on public spaces, parks, and children's play areas in the Orba and Alfalares neighborhoods. The works include repairing perimeter walls, clearing vegetation, and tree management, with completion expected in December. The overall project for the green spaces in these neighborhoods amounts to 7,014,748 euros, plus 6,345,050 euros for the recovery of public spaces in San Jorge, La Fila, and the commercial area.
The recovery of the road network is also a key focus, with 3,416,523 euros allocated to repair the municipal network affected. Additionally, 3,164,728 euros have been designated for sports facilities and 2,485,967 euros for restoring public lighting.
Other notable actions include the reconstruction of the municipal football field (2,293,456 euros) and the rehabilitation of the Pont de Pedra under the V-31 (1,104,484 euros). Aid also extends to educational facilities, such as the Adult School (672,188 euros), the EPA of Alfalares (278,566 euros), and the Remedios Montaner Children's School (260,482 euros). The Espai Jove receives 51,897 euros, while municipal buildings like the City Hall (238,411 euros), the Economic Services and Peace Court building (228,841 euros), the Ventura Alabau Cultural Center (210,954 euros), and the administrative use premises on Reyes Católicos avenue (368,261 euros) will also receive investments.
The investment in Alfafar is part of a broader state program for reconstruction in l'Horta Sud, where the Government has allocated 880.5 million euros to municipal infrastructure and over 4.5 billion euros in total. Zulima Pérez emphasized the Executive's determination to leave no municipality behind and the importance of coordination with local councils to accelerate works, which are vital for restoring citizens' quality of life and reactivating the local economy.
