The Alaquàs City Council has secured a grant of 123,188 euros from the Diputación de Valencia, earmarked for financing natural disaster prevention projects and enhancing the municipality's emergency response capabilities.

With these funds, the council will undertake strategic actions to ensure the safety of residents. Firstly, the Municipal Action Plan for Flood Risk will be updated and reviewed, a key tool for coordinating public services in the face of adverse weather phenomena.
Furthermore, the funds will be used to protect the municipality against potential power supply cuts through the design of a specific action plan for electrical failures. As a supporting measure to guarantee basic services in such scenarios, the purchase of a generator set will be financed.
The enhancement of material resources for the security area will be completed with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art emergency vehicle, enabling faster and more effective mobility for intervention teams in critical situations.
Finally, the grant will also highlight the importance of citizen awareness. To this end, the launch of conferences and training courses open to the public will be funded, aimed at teaching how to act and prevent risks arising from natural disasters.
