The Paterna City Council has launched an initiative to combat bad odors generated by urban waste by installing neutralizing gel panels inside garbage bins.
The main objective of this action is to improve the environmental quality of public spaces and create more pleasant urban environments for citizens, reducing the nuisances caused by waste odors in areas near the bins.
The measure has been initially implemented as a pilot test in 44 bins distributed across different neighborhoods of the city. The Council will evaluate the effectiveness of these anti-odor devices and, based on the results and detected needs, plans to extend the initiative to other locations in Paterna.
“
"With this measure, we continue working to improve the quality of life for our residents, taking care of public spaces and making Paterna an increasingly pleasant city."
The Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, highlighted that this action is part of the ongoing effort to improve the quality of life and well-being of the citizens, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces.
“
"The cleanliness and maintenance of the city are fundamental aspects for the well-being of our citizens. Therefore, we continue to promote actions that allow us to improve both aspects in all our neighborhoods."
“
"The placement of these panels inside the bins will allow us to reduce the odors generated by urban solid waste and decrease the nuisances that bad smells can cause in their surroundings."
The Deputy Mayor for Urban Quality, Nuria Campos, explained that the initiative will complement the thorough cleaning and hosing of bins that are carried out periodically, with the aim of maintaining public spaces in the best possible condition.
