The award, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia on September 18, 2026, will enable the council to prepare a proposal for Key Action 1 of Youth (KA1), considering modalities such as Youth Exchanges (KA152-YOU) or Youth Participation Activities (KA154-YOU).
The future project will use sports as a primary tool to promote active participation, social inclusion, equal opportunities, and healthy lifestyle habits among Meliana's youth. It plans to leverage the municipality's sporting background, the involvement of local clubs and associations, and the facilities at the Municipal Sports Center of Meliana.
Special attention will be paid to gender equality in sports, overcoming participation barriers, and creating inclusive environments. Furthermore, the initiative aims to bring European Union opportunities closer to local youth, fostering the exchange of experiences and non-formal learning.
The objective is to strengthen the role of young people in municipal life, encouraging their involvement in designing local youth, health, and sports policies, enabling them to actively contribute to initiatives that meet their interests.
The grant will fund the technical work required for the European candidacy preparation, including feasibility studies, proposal definition, identification of potential European partners, and drafting of technical documentation. This action is part of the Meliana City Council's commitment to expand the municipality's participation in European programs.
The initiative is supported by a grant of 7,500 euros from the Diputación de Valencia, awarded by Presidential Decree number 10743, dated September 9, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia, number 180, on September 18, 2026.
