The works commenced following alerts from residents who had detected problems with water flow and the network's condition. After camera inspections, it was confirmed that the issues stemmed from both the accumulation of plant debris causing blockages in the channel and the general deterioration of the pipelines, with connection deficiencies, deformations, and cracks.
Given this situation, a complete replacement of the affected sections has been decided. For the irrigation channel, approximately 106 meters of Jaén street will be renovated, from the railway area to its connection with the Valencia street channel. Regarding the sewage collector, about 77 meters will be addressed, from the head well to its connection with the collector running through Valencia street. The works are expected to take three months.
This intervention continues similar improvements previously carried out in the Moratall neighborhood, such as the work on Mitja Galta street last year. The prior camera inspection allowed for a detailed understanding of the installations' condition before commencing the work.
The estimated cost for the irrigation channel renovation is 81,894.97 euros (excluding VAT), and for the sewage collector, it is 49,389.11 euros (excluding VAT). Through this project, the City Council aims to improve the functionality of a key infrastructure in this residential area.
