The Godella City Council has launched the new awareness campaign for street cleaning, 'What Truly Matters,' aiming to promote responsible habits among pet owners and raise citizen awareness.

The Godella City Council, through the Environment Department and in collaboration with the concessionaire company TETMA, has launched the awareness campaign 'What Truly Matters.' This initiative seeks to foster responsible habits among pet owners and raise citizen awareness about the importance of keeping the municipality's public spaces clean and well-maintained.
The campaign places special emphasis on the new municipal animal welfare ordinance, aiming to inform about the main obligations of animal owners. Among the highlighted measures are the collection of excrement, the requirement to carry at least two bags per animal during walks, and a bottle of water to clean urine. It also reminds of the importance of mandatory identification, registration in the Municipal Pet Registry, canine DNA testing, and keeping pet data updated.
The official presentation event took place on Thursday, October 15th, at 5:30 PM at the Mirador de l’Horta. The event included the participation of municipal representatives and companies specializing in animal awareness and care, such as Anticimex and Modepran.
Following the presentation, a tour was organized along Godella's Green Ring. The objective was to showcase the location of the newly installed bins specifically for depositing canine excrement. During this route, a municipal representative and an environmental educator offered practical recommendations for keeping the environment clean, emphasizing the importance of citizen co-responsibility in maintaining public spaces, as outlined in the new ordinance.
As part of the campaign, attendees received a practical gift for excrement collection, known as the "human kit." Through this initiative, the Godella City Council aims to improve the cleanliness of public spaces, promote animal welfare, and foster responsible coexistence through citizen information and awareness.
