At the Microbionet Summit 2026, held under the theme ‘Human Microbiome: From Origin to Longevity’, different life cycle stages were explored, from acquiring the first microorganisms and shaping the microbiome in early life to its role in metabolic, immune, and brain health, as well as its influence on healthy aging.
During the event, attendees discovered IATA's research lines, interests, and capabilities related to the microbiota. Representatives from groups such as Bioinformatics, computational biology and data science; Lactic acid bacteria and probiotics; Microbiome and innovation in nutrition and health; and Integrative approaches in food toxicology were present.
Additionally, Laura Planes from the Institute's Knowledge Transfer Unit (UTC) presented IATA's capabilities at a stand to encourage future collaborations with the business sector.
The event featured scientific presentations, networking spaces for collaboration, bilateral meetings, and an exhibition area showcasing capabilities and research lines.
IATA is a founding partner of Microbionet and actively participates in this platform. This initiative aligns with IATA's Complementary Actions in health, linked to project INNACC/2024/20 from the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i).
Microbionet aims to establish itself as a collaborative and innovative ecosystem for human microbiome research in the Valencian Community, fostering synergies among all stakeholders to enhance public health.
