Foios Celebrates Patron Saint Festivals with Fireworks, Music, and Tradition

The town in l'Horta Nord has prepared an extensive program until August 18th with events for all audiences.

Foios kicks off its eagerly awaited patron saint festivals today, a celebration that will extend until Tuesday, August 18th, with a diverse program including religious events, music, gastronomy, and traditional activities.

The patron saint festivals of Foios 2026 have officially begun with a program that will run until Tuesday, August 18th. The celebration brings together fireworks, music, religious ceremonies, gastronomy, Valencian pilota, and shows for all audiences, keeping local traditions alive.
The inaugural day, Saturday, August 8th, included the traditional descent of the Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre from its hermitage to the church of la Asunción de Nuestra Señora, accompanied by traditional music and fireworks. Sunday, August 9th, was marked by classical music with the XXVII Summer Concert, while Monday, August 10th, was dedicated to retirees with dinner and a show.
The festive week officially starts this Tuesday, August 11th, with the opening proclamation. The day began with the festival's Diana by the Associació de Música Tradicional Pepe Palau. In the afternoon, Valencian pilota will be the focus with matches from the Val i 30 de Foios school and a women's raspall match. The highlight will be the festival's opening proclamation, read by Anna Gimeno Berbegal, a resident of Foios, in the Plaça del Pueblo, followed by a pyrotechnic show by Caballer FX. The night will continue with the Nit de Torrada and a performance by the orchestra La Pato.
On Wednesday, August 12th, the Nit de Comissions will be held, organized by the Quintos, Hijas de María, festeras, and festeros, featuring a pa i porta dinner, a parade of costumed commissions, and a performance by the orchestra Enjoy.
The Nit dels Quints will take place on Thursday, August 13th, with a sandwich distribution and a performance by the orchestra Óxido, accompanied by the Xaranga Txarandonga. Previously, the image of the Inmaculada Concepción will be transferred.
Friday, August 14th, the day of the Inmaculada Concepción, will include a solemn mass, a mascletà by Caballer FX, a procession, and the distribution of a popular dinner, followed by the 'Gran nit' with the orchestra Gravity.
Saturday, August 15th, will be dedicated to the Mare de Déu d’Agost, with a solemn mass, mascletà, procession, and popular dinner, enlivened by the orchestra Platino.
On Sunday, August 16th, the mass and procession in honor of San Roque, the patron saint of Foios, will be celebrated. The Nit de Paelles and popular dinner will precede the performance by the orchestra Mito.
Monday, August 17th, the day of the Mare de Déu del Patrocini, will include the Missa Major, a mini-mascletà by FX Caballer, children's activities with water inflatables and a foam party, the final of the Trofeu del Flaret de pilota, a procession, and a large Argentine barbecue with a performance by the Tokio Band.
The festivals will conclude on Tuesday, August 18th, with the day dedicated to the Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre, featuring a solemn mass, procession, and a closing fireworks display, followed by a musical revue.
