López, who plays for CPH Skulls Almàssera, was instrumental in the final's outcome, assisting Olivia Monjas on the winning goal that secured victory for Spain in the final minute of the match. This achievement solidifies the promising career of the young athlete.
This 2026 world championship adds to a record that already includes Spain's first world title, won in Argentina in 2022, and the 2023 European Championship. In that year's continental final, also against France, Blanca López scored the only goal of the game.
At the club level, her contribution has also been significant. In 2025, she won the Spanish Super Cup with a goal, and in early 2026, her team lifted the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola, where the Foios player also scored.
With this new world title, Blanca López brings the name of Foios to the sporting elite, becoming a role model for the municipality's younger generations. The Foios City Council has publicly congratulated the athlete on this success.
