The competition, running until next Saturday, October 10th, features the largest fleet in the 15-year history of the 52 SUPER SERIES, with teams from 11 different nationalities. In addition to deciding the winner of the Valencian event, the absolute season champion will be crowned.
After four previous events held in various locations, Platoon Aviation arrives in Valencia as the provisional leader, with a slight advantage over Sled. Equality is expected to be the dominant theme, as ten teams have achieved partial victories throughout the year, and three boats have shared the wins in previous events. The battle for the podium also promises to be intense, with Alkedo Cetilar, Paprec, and Trinity Racing separated by only a few points.
A non-scoring practice race will take place today, while the decisive races are scheduled from tomorrow, Tuesday, to Saturday, October 10th, with a total of ten scheduled heats. The presence of 16 TP52 yachts, high-performance monohulls, promises a demanding competition where every result will be crucial, with no discards allowed.
The fleet will gather nearly 220 professional sailors and owners from over 20 countries. Valencia hosts this prestigious circuit for the fifth time, following editions in 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2024. The race course, located off the Malvarrosa beach, will test the teams' adaptability to varying wind conditions.
The event will include a free-access Fan Zone at La Marina, offering activities, music, and food trucks, as well as a giant screen to follow the races live. The organization will also promote sustainability and social action initiatives, such as school programs, beach clean-ups, and measures to reduce plastic use.
The 52 SUPER SERIES Valencia Sailing Week will conclude a season marked by maximum equality, bringing some of the world's best sailors to Valencia. The competition can be followed live through the circuit's official channels and its YouTube channel.
