The Cardiac Oriented Research (COR) and Electrophysiology Analytics Lab (EP Analytics Lab) groups from ITACA participated in the event, which brought together over 400 researchers, engineers, and healthcare professionals from around the world. The conference aimed to share advances in applying computing to clinical cardiology and cardiovascular physiology.
ITACA's participation highlights the research activity of two leading groups in the cardiovascular field. The COR group combines biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence to contribute to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias through innovative, non-invasive methods. The EP Analytics Lab, meanwhile, focuses on interpreting and analyzing intracavitary and non-invasive cardiac signals, collaborating with clinical and multidisciplinary teams.
Researchers from Corify Care, a spin-off of the UPV and the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, also received recognition at the conference. Founded by researchers from COR and the hospital, the company develops medical devices to improve the clinical management of cardiac arrhythmias, from diagnosis to treatment planning and delivery.
Berta Pellicer Sendra received the Clinical Needs Translational Award. Additionally, Adriana Costafreda Martín was a semi-finalist and Jorge Vicente Puig a finalist in the Rosanna Degani Young Investigators’ Award.
The strong presence of ITACA at the conference, along with the recognition received by Corify Care researchers, underscores these teams' contribution to advancing computational cardiology and developing innovative solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
