The performance VirArt, conceived by Fisabio researcher Álvaro Chiner and organized by the Fisabio Foundation with collaboration from the INCLIVA Health Research Institute, the Príncipe Felipe Research Center, the University of Valencia, the CSIC, BioNanoPharma, choreographer Javier San Martín, and the company Dinamic Show, will be presented at the Teatre El Musical de València from September 30 to October 3, 2026. The project aims to reflect on current health challenges through an accessible artistic language.
VirArt will feature five performances. The shows on September 30, October 1, and 2 are dedicated to the educational community, with a morning session for secondary school students and above. These days will include a second, educational part to delve into the scientific concepts addressed on stage. On Saturday, October 3, there will be two performances open to families and the general public, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The play presents a fictional story about a new infectious disease and the work of the scientific community to understand and respond to it. Through contemporary dance, acrobatics, and technological resources, VirArt conveys the scientific process in a unique way, blending research rigor with the emotion and universal language of the performing arts.
In addition to highlighting the role of research, the performance addresses the spread of misinformation and scientific hoaxes, illustrating how false messages can influence public perception of science and health issues. It encourages the audience to reflect on the importance of evidence-based knowledge.
