Valencia is set to host an ambitious sports calendar extending through late 2026 and into early 2027, featuring premier international competitions in disciplines such as sailing, tennis, athletics, motorsports, taekwondo, and popular races. This program reinforces the city's standing as a significant national and international sports hub.
The Councilor for Sports, Rocío Gil, emphasized that "sport is an integral part of how we live in our city," and encouraged citizens to participate in these events, which contribute a triple legacy: sporting, economic, and social.
The calendar kicks off in September with the Spain Sail Grand Prix (September 5-6) at the Marina de València, followed by the BBVA Open Internacional de València WTA 125 (September 21-27), focusing on women's sports.
Popular races will return with the XLVIII Volta a Peu als Barris de Sant Marcel·lí i Sant Isidre (September 27), and athletics will feature the 15K Nocturna Valencia Gana Energía (October 17). Sailing returns with the 52 Super Series Sailing Week (October 20-25), and taekwondo with the XIV Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana (October 25).
On November 1st, the solidarity event Valencia contra el Cáncer will take place. Autumn also includes major running events: the Medio Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich (October 25) and the Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich (December 6), recognized among the fastest and best-organized races globally.
Motorsports will be represented by the Gran Premi de la Comunitat Valenciana de MotoGP (November 13-15) at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. The year 2026 will conclude with the traditional Sant Silvestre Popular Valenciana (December 30).
For 2027, Valencia will host the Copa del Rey de Voleibol (February 25-28) and the European Athletics Indoor Championships (March 4-7) at the Palau Velòdrom Lluís Puig, further cementing the city's status as an international venue.
