The Generalitat Valenciana Emergency Coordination Center (GVA 112) has reported that a total of 1,080 incidents related to the storm were managed between 2:00 PM on Wednesday and 8:00 AM this Thursday, September 17th.
The city of Valencia was the epicenter of the operations, accounting for 606 of the managed emergencies. Other municipalities in the province also registered a significant number of incidents, notably Torrent with 80, Moncada with 35, Bétera with 32, Paterna with 29, and L’Eliana with 26.
The most frequent interventions by rescue teams and firefighters included pumping water from basements and garages, resolving traffic incidents, and rescuing people trapped in vehicles blocked by water accumulation.
The main transport infrastructures in the province were also affected. Valencia Airport (AENA) had to divert 12 flights to other aerodromes due to complications, although it has now confirmed the full operational status of its runway.
Meanwhile, Metrovalencia opened its metro and tram lines this Thursday but warns of persistent disruptions and temporary issues in maintaining usual frequencies, following intensive overnight work to repair the damage.
