On Wednesday, 63 emergency services were attended in the province of Valencia, with 34 fires and 29 rescues or auxiliary services. Of these fires, 24 affected vegetation, particularly in ravines and urban-forest interface areas, while 10 were urban fires (one industrial, six in homes and urban spaces, and three in vehicles).
The Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Valencia has urged citizens and municipalities to heighten prevention measures, especially in urban-forest environments, given the forecast of continued extreme risk and the possibility of stormy phenomena for Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Castellón has also called for extreme caution. The westerly wind conditions have caused "extraordinary" temperatures and "very low" relative humidity, with minimal nocturnal recovery in vegetation, creating a particularly dangerous scenario for the Valencian Community.
In Castellón, three vegetation fires were attended, along with a traffic accident involving trapped individuals and the rescue of three minors struggling to exit the water at Benicàssim beach.
