The contract, valued at 6.4 million euros, aims to define a 13-kilometer link connecting the motorway near Cheste with the northern arc of the bypass. This project, which has an estimated global budget of 193 million euros, seeks to alleviate the traffic congestion affecting the western metropolitan area of the city.
According to the ministry, the infrastructure will facilitate traffic between the western interior corridor and the Mediterranean coastal corridor. It also aims to establish an alternative route for access to the port of Valencia via the V-30, improving safety and traffic flow for both short and long-distance transport.
The A-3 remains the main high-capacity access to the city of Valencia and its industrial zones. The Ministry noted that the need for this work has been reinforced following the dana events of October 2024, which highlighted the importance of having alternative routes to provide traffic flexibility during emergency situations.
