In response to the meteorological warning affecting the entire provincial coastline, the council has implemented precautionary measures. The situation will remain in effect as long as the forecast for rain and storms persists, following the emergency protocol.
Among the measures adopted are the closure of green spaces and access points to the Turia Garden. Surveillance has been increased along the Maritime Promenade, the city's beaches, Pinedo, and Saler, and Local Police advise against walking in these areas. Supervision is also being intensified in entertainment and dining areas along the waterfront to prevent crowds.
Local Police have reminded establishments on the maritime facade of the importance of checking movable elements against possible wind gusts or sea spouts. Additionally, the public is advised to remove items such as flowerpots and secure awnings.
Surveillance of riverbeds and ravines within the municipal area has been enhanced. Outdoor activities organized by the Municipal Sports Foundation have been canceled, and temporary markets scheduled for today will close at 13:00.
The Gardening Service has been reinforced to address incidents arising from the alert. Citizens are urged to avoid walking through wooded areas or under cornices and scaffolding. Emergency centers (CAES) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Benimaclet, and El Carmen will remain open. Boats in the Albufera must return to their moorings by 12:00 PM.
The City Council, which will provide updated information through official channels, has activated water cannons in the Devesa del Saler due to the red alert for forest fires. La Devesa will remain closed until Friday, August 21st, due to fire risk, following the Generalitat's resolution.
In light of the orange alert, non-essential travel is discouraged, and driving should only occur if necessary. It is advised to stay in safe locations and avoid flood-prone areas like rivers, ravines, and streams. Preparing an emergency kit and avoiding basements, garages, and low-lying areas, as well as securing essential belongings, is also recommended.
It is recommended to consult updates through the official channels of @ajuntamentvlc, AEMET, Emergencias 112 Comunitat Valenciana, and the GVA 112 Avisos application.
