This improvement represents a saving of 43 days in surgical response for these patients, who require intervention within a maximum recommended period of 30 days, according to Royal Decree 605/2003.
The positive trend is also evident for priority 2 patients, with wait times reduced from 39 to 36 days, and for priority 3 patients, whose wait has decreased from 59 to 57 days on average. The hospital's overall surgical wait time now stands at 52 days, five days less than three years ago and below the regional average.
These outcomes are the result of coordinated efforts by the entire department and surgical services, aiming to provide appropriate care based on each patient's clinical priority, particularly for those needing a faster response.
