The event, with free access and aimed at audiences of all ages, especially children, will be open from 10:00 to 13:30h and from 17:00 to 20:00h. Morning workshops will be for primary and secondary school students, while afternoon sessions will be open to the general public.
Activities will cover areas such as microbiology, nutrition, chemistry, materials and magnetism, anatomy with augmented reality, archaeology, biomaterials, civil engineering, 3D design, and aquatic fauna, among others.
This year, the European Researchers' Night is organized by the Health Research Institute INCLIVA, the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (Fisabio), the University of Valencia (UV), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV), the delegation of the Higher Council for Scientific Research in the Valencian Community (CSIC), the Research Foundation of the General University Hospital of Valencia (FIHGUV), and the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA). The event is supported by the Museum of Paleontology and Natural Collections of the Valencia City Council.
INCLIVA will present workshops such as 'Healthy Stomach Mission,' explaining how to care for this organ, the importance of a healthy diet and digestive hygiene, and the role of the microbiome. The Reproductive Medicine group will offer 'The Journey to Pregnancy,' a workshop with games on the menstrual cycle, fertilization, and embryonic development.
Attendees can also learn about 'The Kidneys: The Human Body's Filter,' highlighting their cleaning function and potential damage. The Research Group on Cellular and Organic Pathophysiology of Oxidative Stress will host 'Not All Models Are Catwalk Models,' to discover model organisms that help understand rare diseases and find treatments.
In collaboration with Fisabio and the Valencian Community Biobank Network, the workshop 'Discover What a Biobank Is' will allow participants to process samples and learn about laboratory work.
Additionally, 'Science and Beers' returns tomorrow, Tuesday, a cycle of informal scientific monologues and talks. The first session will be at 19:30h at La Fábrica de Hielo (C/ José Ballester Gozalvo, 37, Valencia), featuring monologues like 'From Scrap to Catalyst: A Chemical Glow Up' and 'The Race to Save the Mediterranean Mussel'.
Juan Nacher Roselló, from INCLIVA's Research Group on Psychiatry and Neurodegenerative Diseases, will participate with the talk 'Adventures in the Brain's Bridal Suite.' Both initiatives are supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
