For nine uninterrupted days, the festival featured live concerts with more than 5 emerging bands at La Casa de la Mar in Alboraya. Concurrently, over 58 national and international short films were screened, accompanied by discussions with their directors, producers, and actors. The main venues were the Auditori Germanies in Manises and Cines Babel in Valencia.
As a novelty, an immersive experience was introduced, inviting spectators to become part of the Butoni Chronographic Institute, transforming the cinema hall into a time machine. Other parallel activities included the Butoni Fastfilm, where short films were created in 72 hours, a poster contest for graphic designers and artists, and poster exhibitions.
In total, more than a thousand attendees enjoyed 76 hours of cultural activities. The festival received over 700 audiovisual projects and hosted more than 100 national and international guests. The closing gala, presented by Mónica Zamora and Quique González, announced the winners and successfully engaged the audience, who even danced.
The awards ceremony took place on September 20th at the Auditori Germanies in Manises, where 18 accolades were presented. Among the winners, Dalia received the award for best soundtrack, and Último superviviente a bordo, for best special effects. Sonrisa de mierda was honored for best sound and best screenplay, while I walked through the wall received the award for best cinematography.
The award for best art direction went to The tale of a tail. Irene Escolar received the best actress award for Dalia, and Grigore Bechet the best actor award for Place under the sun. Cet été-là was recognized as best student director. Inrgit won the award for best director, and Ángulo muerto for best editing.
In specialized sections, Erreka Zoko Hortan won the award for Best Adventure and Fan Film Short, and El fantasma de la quinta received the Best Animation Short award. No hay dios was recognized as Best Music Video, and La Barraca won the award for Best Valencian Short Film (La Terreta Section). Finally, I walked through the wall took home the award for Best Short Film in the official section, and Espantacriaturas won Best Fast Film.
