The project stems from the need to move towards models that recognize the diversity of contributions in scientific research, going beyond traditional indicators such as publication counts or the prestige of academic journals. To achieve this, REALISE will study various methods and tools used for research evaluation and analyze their practical functioning, with the goal of developing recommendations to improve current scientific assessment systems.
Over the next three years, the consortium will collect and analyze research on scientific evaluation, study the operation of different assessment tools and methods, and examine how institutions implement changes in their practices. Based on these findings, it will develop recommendations to help research organizations and science policy makers enhance their evaluation systems.
