The Valencian Community recorded a 10.8% drop in housing sales during May, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE). This decline contrasts with the 7.29% reduction at the national level. Despite the year-on-year decrease, the 8,669 transactions represent the fifth best figure for a May in the region's historical series.
Compared to the previous month, there was a 10% intermonthly increase in the Community. Of the transactions carried out, 8,330 were for free housing and 339 for official protection properties. Regarding age, 1,589 transactions were for new homes and 7,080 for used properties.
In total, 14,176 housing transactions were made in May, including 8,669 sales, 2,691 inheritances, 482 donations, and 8 exchanges. Furthermore, 23,506 urban properties and 4,758 rural properties were transferred.
