The Valencian Entity for Housing and Land (EVHA) has completed the repair of 806 public protection homes (VPP) from its portfolio since July 2023, with a total investment of 9,322,155 euros.
The regional secretary for Housing, Sebastián Fernández, highlighted the social impact of these works, emphasizing that the Consell's absolute priority is to guarantee access to housing in optimal conditions. According to Fernández, each key handed over represents a real opportunity for stability and well-being for those most in need, and the public housing stock will be an engine for social inclusion.
Since the beginning of the legislature, 421 homes have been repaired in the province of Valencia, 249 in Alicante, and 136 in Castellón.
Currently, work is underway on the rehabilitation of 58 more homes (34 in Alicante, 20 in Valencia, and 4 in Castellón), which will be made available soon. Additionally, 42 properties (25 in Alicante, 15 in Valencia, and 2 in Castellón) are under evaluation for upcoming repair.
Sebastián Fernández stressed the importance of comprehensive housing policy, which includes both the construction of new protected housing and the maintenance and improvement of the existing public housing stock.
Of the total investment of 9,322,155 euros, 4,689,732 euros have been allocated to the province of Valencia, 3,436,801 euros to Alicante, and 1,207,723 euros to Castellón. The average investment per repaired home is 11,600 euros.
