The Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) and the Confederation of Cooperatives of the Valencian Community (CONCOVAL) will organize a conference focused on energy communities on September 17th.

The meeting, titled "Energy Communities. Local Administration and Cooperativism: An Alliance That Works," aims to address collaboration possibilities between local entities and the cooperative movement within the framework of the energy transition. The conference will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, in a hybrid format, with in-person attendance at the FVMP headquarters in Valencia and the option for remote participation.
The event will offer local entities a space to learn about collaboration avenues between municipalities and cooperatives, practical experiences, and tools to facilitate the establishment and development of energy communities at the municipal level. This initiative is part of the collaboration agreement formalized last June between FVMP and CONCOVAL, which seeks to promote the development of local energy communities and actively involve Valencian municipalities.
The conference is also held within the framework of the European project ENCOM HUB, in which CONCOVAL participates alongside other Valencian and European entities. This project works on developing energy communities through a support model to facilitate the creation and consolidation of community-based renewable energy initiatives.
Collaboration between local administration and cooperativism can contribute to the development of more sustainable, participatory, and territory-linked energy models. It also fosters citizen involvement, local economic revitalization, and progress towards greater energy autonomy.
