The Generalitat Valenciana, through Ivace+i Internacional, has coordinated for the first time the grouped presence of six video game companies from the Valencian Community at the Tokyo Game Show. The event, held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Tokyo, is considered a key point for the international projection of products from this sector.
The Director General of Entrepreneurship and Internationalization, Mónica Payá, has highlighted the importance of this event as a platform for showcasing video games developed in the region. Valencian companies had the opportunity to present their projects in the Spanish Pavilion, managed by Ivace+i Internacional and Valencia Game City.
In addition to participating in the fair, Valencian studios attended the Spain Game Matsuri, a pre-event networking session organized by ICEX and the Trade Commission of Spain in Tokyo (Ofecomes). One of the selected studios had the chance to deliver a pitch to present its project to a professional Japanese and Asian audience.
According to Payá, the fair represents a unique opportunity to assess the global interest in projects, establish contacts with publishers, distributors, and investors, as well as to identify market trends. The possibility of engaging with international stakeholders, even those geographically and commercially distant, is one of the significant benefits.
The 2025 edition of the Tokyo Game Show recorded a historic record with 1,136 exhibitors, of which 615 were international. The fair facilitated over 3,500 B2B meetings, consolidating itself as a vital space for the video game ecosystem.
Presence at this event allows Valencian studios to analyze the Japanese market, identify the most accepted genres, observe the strategies of major publishers, and understand the expectations of international buyers.
