The initiative, organized by the Mediterranean Dance and Art Association (ADAM) with the support of the Hortensia Herrero Foundation, has brought together students, pre-professional, and professional dancers from across Spain and abroad for twelve days. The València City Council highlighted that this figure represents the highest number in the campus's history.
The celebration of this event consolidates La Petxina as a key venue for major sports, physical activity, and artistic events, reinforcing the role of municipal facilities for international projects. The Hortensia Herrero Foundation, which has supported the project for 13 years, has made the campus's return to La Petxina possible and has awarded 15 scholarships to young Valencian dancers, five of which include accommodation and maintenance.
The Councilor for Sports, Rocío Gil, emphasized that hosting the campus again is a "great opportunity" for the city, considering it a "decisive" meeting for those starting their dance careers and a chance to promote the city internationally. She highlighted the importance of perseverance in this discipline.
Chaired by Gema Casino Penalba and artistically directed by Fabrice Edelmann and José Carlos Blanco, the campus offers technical classes, physical preparation, classical repertoire, and choreographic workshops taught by international figures such as Arantxa Argüelles, and includes choreographies by creators like Nacho Duato, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, and Jacopo Godani.
This edition also expands training stays at prestigious European dance centers and companies, such as the Compañía Nacional de Danza, The Stuttgart Ballet, and the Dutch National Ballet Academy, facilitating participants' contact with the professional world. ADAM noted that the campus is a "unique opportunity" to learn from outstanding professionals, share experiences, and the passion for the art of dance.
The teaching team includes professionals of recognized international prestige. The closing showcase will take place on August 28th at 5:30 PM at the Municipal Auditorium of Riba-roja de Túria, with free admission, marking the end of this record-breaking edition.
