The streets in the center of Buñol, where the tomato fight will take place, are already being prepared with tarps to protect building facades. The organization explained that this Tuesday, the seven trucks that will distribute the 150,000 kilos of tomatoes, sourced from Badajoz, were loaded. According to municipal sources, the tomatoes are grown exclusively for La Tomatina and are not suitable for human consumption.
An attendance of 22,000 people with reserved tickets is expected, and the 'no tickets available' sign is anticipated for this edition. Sergio Galarza, the councilor for La Tomatina, stated on À Punt that they expect everything to proceed normally, highlighting the media attention with over 400 accredited individuals and 45 media outlets.
To facilitate attendance at the event, Renfe has reinforced its service with 1,700 additional seats on commuter trains. Seven trains have been added, three originating from València-Font de Sant Lluís and four from Buñol. These reinforced trains will run in double composition, offering 558 seats each.
Trains bound for Buñol will depart from València-Font de Sant Lluís at 8:25, 9:25, and 10:45 AM. In the opposite direction, they will leave Buñol at 1:20 PM, 2:00 PM, 2:40 PM, and 4:00 PM. With this special offer, the total number of available seats between Buñol and Valencia for next Wednesday, August 26th, will exceed 6,700.
Buñol station is part of the C3 Commuter Line of the Valencia network. Commuter trains are presented as a convenient alternative to private transport, connecting directly to the town center. La Tomatina, declared an International Tourist Interest festival, attracts local, national, and international participants from all over the world.
