The match between Valencia CF and Real Betis Balompié, scheduled for the first round of the league, has been postponed and rescheduled for late August due to player participation in the 2026 World Cup.

La Liga has confirmed the postponement of the match between Valencia and Betis, corresponding to the championship's opening round. The decision stems from the need to ensure minimum rest periods for players involved in the 2026 World Cup, as the league season begins on the weekend of August 14th-16th.
Betis requested the postponement due to the participation of their player Lo Celso with Argentina in the World Cup competition. La Liga has released the new schedules, and the match will finally take place on Tuesday, August 25th, at 9:00 PM at the Mestalla stadium.
This encounter will be held after the second round, scheduled for August 22nd against Celta, and before the third round on Sunday the 30th in Riazor against Deportivo de la Coruña.
The postponement, legally supported, will also allow Betis's coach, Manuel Pellegrini, to utilize this extra week of training to prepare players like Álvaro Fidalgo and Cucho Hernández, who have had an atypical preseason, as well as other players recovering from injuries such as Abde Ezzalzouli and Antony.
