The Hortensia Herrero Art Center in Valencia opens its doors from April 28, 2026, to the first major solo exhibition in the city by the renowned German creator Anselm Kiefer.

The exhibition, which can be visited until October 2026, occupies six rooms of the center and includes pieces created specifically for this space, the result of close collaboration with the artist. Kiefer, known for his work that fuses landscape, history, literature, and poetry, presents a selection of his most representative work.
Among the highlighted works is «Danaë», a painting over thirteen meters wide that was previously exhibited in New York. In this piece, Kiefer recreates the interior of Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, transforming it into a scene where golden rain symbolizes the myth of Danaë and Zeus.
The German artist has exhibited in internationally renowned museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. He has also received important awards like the Praemium Imperiale and the German Book Trade Peace Prize.
