A total of 147 people attended health centers and hospital emergencies in the Valencian Community due to possible eye damage from observing last Wednesday's solar eclipse. According to the Conselleria de Sanitat (Ministry of Health), none of the cases required hospital admission.
By Thursday morning, 70 attendances had been recorded, with another 77 added throughout that same day, bringing the total to 147 episodes linked to viewing the astronomical phenomenon. Of these attendances, 121 occurred in hospitals and 26 in Primary Care centers.
The province of Valencia accounted for the majority of cases, with 91 hospital attendances and 12 in Primary Care. In Alicante, 22 hospital cases and 10 in health centers were recorded, while in Castellón, 8 in hospitals and 4 in Primary Care were registered.
Health officials detailed that from Tuesday night to Thursday morning, professionals attended 70 consultations, of which 56 were resolved in hospitals and 14 in Primary Care. None required admission, allowing patients to return home after medical evaluation.
Throughout Thursday, an additional 77 attendances were recorded, including 12 in Primary Care (3 in Castellón, 4 in Valencia, and 5 in Alicante) and 65 in Hospital Care (2 in Castellón, 53 in Valencia, and 10 in Alicante). These figures confirm the mild to moderate severity of the symptoms, compatible with outpatient follow-up.
