The city of Villena will host the second edition of the Pharmacy Fair on September 25th, coinciding with World Pharmacists Day. Nine local pharmacies will participate in the event.

Plaza de Santiago will become a health hub on September 25th, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, where nine local pharmacies will set up stands to offer the public advice on healthy habits, care, and other health-related topics. Basic tests and health check-ups, such as blood pressure and blood sugar analysis, will be conducted.
This initiative is part of the municipal plan 'Cúrate en Salud' (Heal Yourself in Health), promoted by the Health Department. The fair will feature five thematic stands and introduce the Health Passport, a document to record the results of the tests performed during the day. Participants can consult their results via the 03400 APP from the Association of Commerce and Services Vi.
The stands will focus on topics such as Diabetes, Skin, Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular Risk, and Sleep. Pharmacist Borja Gosálbez, from Farmacia La Entrada, highlighted the importance of these spaces for prevention and health education.
Meanwhile, Carlos Guillem, from Farmacia Guillem, emphasized that these events allow them to explain the role of pharmacies, which extends beyond dispensing medication, serving as a fundamental part of the health system and a close point of contact for prevention.
As a preliminary activity, on September 24th at 7:30 PM, a round table discussion titled 'Let's Talk About Health' will take place at the Espacio Joven. The event will be moderated by the Councilor for Health, Alba Laserna, and will include participation from various health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and specialists in physical activity.
