The city of Villena is preparing to celebrate the 10th edition of the HOP! Festival, an event that from August 23rd to 28th will fill the main outdoor spaces with circus, physical theatre, clown, and urban dance performances. The program includes a total of 10 shows by national and international companies, as well as a dance exhibition.
The opening day, August 23rd, will feature The MoVida Sunset, the closing exhibition of the eponymous dance campus. At 8:00 PM, at the Pyramid of the Bullring, the campus students will perform alongside instructors Carol Bastida, Alexandra Delgado, and José Luis Valero, as well as invited dancers and musicians.
From August 24th to 28th, the HOP! festival will present ten shows by companies from the Balearic Islands, Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Catalonia, France, and the Region of Murcia. Performances will take place simultaneously in two venues each night: the Pyramid of the Bullring at 7:00 PM and the Fairgrounds at 10:00 PM. Notable events include the itinerant parade on August 24th by Circ Bover and the festival's closing on August 28th at the Market Park with Yllana / Nacho Villar Producciones.
This year, the festival will bring together contemporary circus, clown, physical theatre, street theatre, and dance, with offerings designed for all audiences. Among the highlighted performances are «Home» by Crisclown, winner of the FETEN 2025 Award for Best Street Show, and «Glubs» by Yllana and Nacho Villar Producciones, a finalist for the Max Awards for Best Street Show.
