The The Waterparties Club 2026 initiative is organizing El Sunset del Castillo, a major gathering taking place next Thursday, August 27th, on the esplanade of the Castillo de la Atalaya. The event will feature live music, non-alcoholic beverages, pizzas, and a karaoke contest, serving as a prelude to the initial events of the Moors and Christians Festivities.
This meeting point, open to the public, aims to promote a new model of festivities and coexistence based on the absence of alcohol, non-violence, and civic behavior. The day will include a performance by Kalupsoul DJ, a Karaoke contest, pizzas from Gastronomo, and non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails from By Gravys.
The organization anticipates that El Sunset del Castillo, starting at 7:00 PM and extending until midnight, will be the most significant event before the official start of the festivities, which include the Pasodobles Concert and the Romería.
The Waterparties Club 2026 is an initiative of the Villena City Council, through various departments led by the UPPCA, the Central Board of the Moors and Christians Festivities, and social entities and private companies. The common goal is to foster healthy habits, civic behavior, limit alcohol consumption, and eliminate violence in public and festive events. During the festivities, further awareness activities will be carried out within the official program.
