Saturday's storm episode has not only brought heavy rains to the interior of Castellón but also caused two fires. The first originated in a wind turbine in Pina de Montalgrao, while the second is a forest fire in Ludiente, presumably caused by a lightning strike. The firefighters from the Castellón Provincial Consortium are working to control both blazes, focusing on preventing falling embers from igniting surrounding vegetation and worsening the situation.
Additionally, emergency services were involved in another difficult situation in Bejís. There, they had to rescue six people traveling in a van who were trapped by a landslide on a forest path due to torrential rains that accumulated over 180 l/m2. Fortunately, all occupants are reported to be in good condition.
In the case of Ludiente, a smoke column was spotted, and firefighters from the Alto Palancia station have been dispatched to the area, as they believe it could be a forest fire.
