The fire, which is affecting forest land, is showing a negative evolution according to authorities. To facilitate extinction efforts, the Port of Sagunto has been closed and designated as a water-loading point for the aerial assets working in the area.
The Generalitat has activated Situation 2 of the Special Forest Fire Plan (PEIF), a measure adopted when an emergency may seriously affect the population and non-forest assets, requiring the deployment of extraordinary resources.
Ten aerial assets are participating in the extinction efforts, including the Generalitat coordination helicopter and two assets from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. Additionally, eight forest firefighter units, four consortium crews, an environmental agent, a prevention unit, and a tanker truck have been mobilized.
Meanwhile, a second fire has been declared in the Castellfort area, in the Els Ports region, where three forest firefighter units and three additional aerial assets are working.
