Under the slogan "¿Re-Cuerdas?" (Do you Re-Member/Strings?), this special edition of the festival offers a sonic journey that revisits notable proposals from its first decade and combines them with new performances to commemorate ten years of trajectory.
The celebration will begin on Friday, October 9th, coinciding with the Day of the Valencian Community. At 7:00 PM, the Culture House Theater will host a special concert by QuarteTomás, a formation of four Spanish guitarists with international recognition: Francisco Albert Ricote, Marco Smaili, Miguel García Ferrer, and Pepe Payá.
On Saturday, October 10th, one of the highlights will be the tenth-anniversary celebration show, taking place at 7:00 PM in the Villa Purificación Gardens. This performance will bring together Fetén-Fetén and the Orquesta Ciudad de La Mancha, conducted by Fernando Bustamante, offering a fusion of Spanish popular music with a contemporary perspective.
On Sunday, October 11th, the MDMFEST will conclude its 2026 programming with two concerts. The first event will be at 12:00 PM in the Villa Purificación Stained Glass Hall, featuring a guitar matinee by Citlali Sophie Bravard Varela (Mexico) and Alberto Madrona López, who were awarded in 2025 as the best guitarists from the Valencian Community in the José Tomás Villa International Guitar Competition of Petrer.
The festival's closing ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM in the Culture House Theater with a concert by the Cuban Trio Alter Ego. This group, of Cuban origin with international projection, will present a combination of creativity, rhythm, and improvisation rooted in Cuban musical tradition.
Through these three days, Montanejos celebrates a decade of its International Plucked String Festival, uniting national and international proposals and exploring the fusion between tradition and new musical interpretations.
