The event, which brought together students from the learning centers of Montanejos, Cirat, Montán, and El Tormo, along with members of the Association of Women of Puebla de Arenoso and local residents, aimed to strengthen relationships between the towns through knowledge of heritage and the exchange of experiences. The initiative took learning outside the classroom to bring participants closer to their environment and to proposals that help keep the towns of the region active.
Associativism was one of the focal points of the day. Pepa Senent, a professor from the Universitat Jaume I, gave a presentation on her role in citizen participation and social cohesion, highlighting the importance of neighborhood networks, intergenerational collaboration, and the prominence of older adults in village life.
During the meeting, local initiatives such as Gerialdea in El Tormo were showcased, and the experience of the Association of Retirees Virgen del Rosario of Los Calpes was shared as an example of rural associativism.
The program included a tour of the urban center of Puebla de Arenoso, with visits to Carrer del Loreto, the Plaza Mayor, the church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, and the hermitage of Loreto. Attendees were able to learn about local history and enjoy views of the reservoir.
A fellowship meal, accompanied by popular music and songs, concluded the day. The Alto Mijares Adult Education School has highly valued the positive reception of the event, which encourages the organization of new coexistence days.
