The municipality of Montanejos will host the tenth edition of the MDM FEST, the International Plucked String Festival, in 2026, with a commemorative program running from August to October.

Under the slogan 'Re-Cordes?', the event aims to establish itself as a meeting point for lovers of the guitar and plucked string instruments. Activities will be held in various iconic locations in the town, such as the Jardines de Villa Purificación, the Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura, and the Salón de las Vidrieras.
The program is scheduled to begin on August 1st with a free concert by Japanese guitarist Sohta Nakabayashi. Following this opening event, the festival will resume its activities between October 9th and 11th for the commemorative days.
During October, the festival will feature the participation of various groups, including QuartetoMás, the Orquestra Ciudad de La Mancha, and the Trío Cubano Alter Ego, among other performers. This year's edition also features a new graphic image designed for the occasion.
