This measure aims to incentivize access to housing, both for new constructions and renovations, by removing fiscal barriers. As highlighted by Jordi Alcon, the mayor of Vistabella del Maestrat, "our intention is for this to translate into lower costs for interested individuals."
The bonus is exclusively for residences that will be the primary home for residents or for constructions intended for businesses and establishments. Projects for tourist-use housing will not be eligible for bonuses. "The aid we propose from the council is not compatible with patrimonial or economic speculation motives. The measure aims to facilitate the creation or improvement of housing, and the lives of families," explained Alcon.
In parallel, this initiative also seeks to promote employment among professionals in the construction sector. The works eligible for the tax reduction range from new constructions, renovations, rehabilitations, or demolitions, to modifications, changes of use, or adaptation of existing spaces that require a building permit or responsible declaration.
The bonuses, detailed in the updated fiscal ordinance, include different percentages up to a maximum of 95%. They have been structurally designed to improve the municipality's economic and social context, encompassing cases such as new economic activity, generational succession, job creation, regeneration of urban areas, comprehensive rehabilitation, improved energy efficiency, use of renewable energies, and installation of electric vehicle charging points, among others.
